One of the main holiday traditions in my household is having a different themed Christmas Tree every year. My mom has done this all throughout my life, for as long as I can remember. We've had everything from a Barbie themed tree to a Disney themed tree. There have been so many themes, it is nearly impossible to remember them all. But this year, our tree's theme is something I'm really excited about. I proudly present our Broadway themed Christmas tree! Seeing Broadway shows is something my parents and I do quite often. Every so often we'll go down to Los Angeles and see the new shows that are playing at the Pantages or more recently at the Ahmanson. In fact last month, we just saw Dear Evan Hansen and at the end of this month we're going to see Come From Away. And even sometimes we'll travel across the country to see a show! This year, we actually flew to Boston just to see Moulin Rouge while it was in previews. Some of the ornaments we have on the tree this year were bought from shows we have seen this year like Aladdin and Dear Evan Hansen. The ones shaped like the Playbills were purchased from Broadway Cares, which is Broadway's philanthropy that fights against AIDS. And some of the speciality ones like the Hamilton star ornament and Wicked snowflake were bought from Etsy. All I can say is that I'm absolutely obsessed with this year's Christmas tree! During this time of the year, holiday movies are the most popular. Every channel and streaming service is taking complete advantage of how much people love holiday movies. You can find classic and even new movies and specials made specifically for the holidays. However there is one movie on Netflix that people can't stop talking about, A Christmas Prince.

Social media has been going on nonstop about A Christmas Prince for the past couple weeks, all thanks to a tweet Netflix put out roasting their own movie and the viewers who watched it. As you can see Netflix doesn’t really think so highly of the movie. In fact, most people don’t think so highly of it. I decided to watch the movie myself, and this is what I learned. Here is everything you need to know about A Christmas Prince.

Now, I won’t go into much detail about the full plot of the movie, in case you want to watch it. But here are some good facts to start with. A Christmas Prince starts off like any typical cheesy romantic Christmas movie. Our main character, Amber, played by the amazing Rose McIver, is a junior editor who is an aspiring journalist. She ends up getting her first big break, covering the Prince of Aldovia, an alleged playboy. This story falls into her lap because all the other reporters are out on other stories. Her goal is to find out what’s going to happen with the line of succession, since the king died almost a year ago and a replacement needs to be named, by you guessed it, Christmas.

When Amber arrives in Aldovia, which by the way is a ridiculous name. Does every fake obscure country that involves a prince or princess have to end in “ovia”? Is that some sort of requirement? I’m honestly really curious about that. But anyways the paparazzi are waiting for the Prince to arrive as well. On her way out she gets her cab taken by a scruffy man who she labels as a selfish jerk. Is it a coincidence the Prince was supposed to arrive around the time? Methinks not.

So Amber heads to the press conference, and believe it or not it starts with a royal official actually canceling the press conference. Why you ask? Well the Prince is MIA yet again! Amber is down on her luck, she doesn’t have any answers or a story. Being the clever girl she is, she decides to take a look around the castle. She ends up getting mistaken for the Princess' new American tutor who isn’t set to arrive for two weeks.

The staff somehow believes her, like really? They didn’t even bother to check her ID or ask for any paperwork at all. Aldovia must be a country of trusting people. Anyways, she goes to meet the Queen and the Prince, who as you could guess was the scruffy guy who stole her cab. We then meet the Princess who we learn is a troublemaker, and also handicapped. This all happens within the first 15 minutes of the movie, that's a lot to throw at a viewer Netflix.

Amber, now going by her new identity Martha, makes a great first impression on the Princess and within one day they are already becoming close. The Princess likes that Amber just treats her like a person, rather than a royal. So she ends up bringing Amber to a royal family cocktail party as her guest. At the party Amber meets a lot of pretentious members of the royal family.

While working on getting the inside scoop on the royal family, especially on the Prince, Amber is drawn closer to him. She gets to see that the Prince is nothing like the media makes him out to be, he cares for his family deeply and has some unique and sweet talents, like being able to play Christmas carols on the piano. Cliche much?

The Princess catches on and learns Amber isn’t her tutor, but a reporter. Which goes to show the kid is the smartest person in this movie. How does no one pick up on the fact that the tutor does not understand factorials or any kind of advanced algebra. She promises to keep Amber’s identity a secret as long as she writes the truth about her brother.

Now what’s a movie without any sort of conflict. Well let me introduce you to the villains of this movie: the cousin and the Prince’s ex-girlfriend. Those two are up to no good. Since the cousin is next in line for the throne, you know he’s got to be plotting some sort of coup. Besides the obvious villain conflict, you know there has to be some sort of struggle with Amber. Well it turns out while she’s snooping she finds some life changing information for the royal family. Now Amber has a hard choice to make, does she release what she knows and air the royal family’s dirty laundry? Or does she find a way to tell the Prince herself? Or does she just leave it all alone?

Now that's all I'm going to tell you spoiler-wise. If you want to know what else that happens, you're going to have to watch A Christmas Prince yourself. Just know all cliche holiday movies do end with a happy ending. And it's already been established A Christmas Prince takes the cake with all the cliches.

I have my own opinion on the movie but it’s up to you to form your own. If this sounds like the type of movie you want to watch this holiday season check it out. If not, you’re not missing much.

The most iconic part of Christmas is the tree. And once Thanksgiving is out of the way, Christmas tree lots magically pop up out of nowhere. Once you have your tree the holiday season becomes even more official.

The first week of December, I got my tree and named him Tiny Jim. Last year I got a table top tree for my room and named him Tiny Tim, so you can see there's a theme when it comes to my naming my Christmas trees. So when my mom and I were at the Christmas tree lot, we picked out our family one. And when we went to pay this little beauty stuck out to me. So I've had Tiny Jim for almost two weeks, but today is the day where he is completely decorated. So may I introduce you all to Tiny Jim. Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree!

It only took me a two weeks to decorate... Well for one week Tiny Jim was just sitting around and waiting to be decorated. So somehow someway, I finally found some motivation to decorate. I bought some white battery pack LED lights from Big Lots to go with my multicolored battery back LED lights from last year, also from Big Lots. Then I went to Michael's to get some clear glass ornaments, and I decorated those. If you want to know how I decorated my ornaments, check out my Blogmas Day 9 DIY Ornaments post. Also apparently these ornaments take about a week to dry.

So while I waited for the ornaments to dry, I hung up the lights and slowly added ornaments to Tiny Jim. And slowly but surely, Tiny Jim is complete and 100% ready to spread Christmas cheer! Education, it's a very important part of our society. Yet everyone seems to constantly complain about school and having to go. Meanwhile, there a thousands of people in the world who would love the opportunity to receive an education.

Sometimes we all take our education for granted. Without school we would have no idea how to read, write, count or any other basic everyday skill. Think about the Middle Ages, when only the wealthy were allowed to be educated and all the peasants were illiterate. The peasants lacked logic and reason due to their lack of education.

Education gives us the tools to think for ourselves, we're taught to read and from what we've read we try to form an understanding and create our own interpretation.

Today all you see is people complain that they have to go to school. School is treated like it is a chore, rather than an amazing opportunity. It's crazy women did not have the right to an education in the United States until the 19th century. It's even crazier that in some parts of the world, women still don't have the right to recieve an education.

Remember Malala Yousafazi? Well when she was 15 years old, she survived an assassination attempt. Why would a 15 year old be a target for an assassination? Well this is because she defended the right for a girls’ education in Paskistan after the Taliban outlawed schools for girls in her community. She survived a bullet to the head and has become an activist for education and has even won a Nobel Peace Prize since then. Tell me, what did you do at 15?

My point is, we're so lucky that we have the right to an education and it's something that's not appreciated enough. Imagine you were Malala, and you were almost murdered all because you wanted to receive an education, but your government would not allow it because of something you can't even control.

School not only teaches us about a variety of subjects, it also teaches us how to grow and become responsible citizens and good human beings. We learn to use our manners and be polite and respectful towards one another. While in school we find our talents and that can lead us to our future career path. We learn how to interact with one another while we learn about ourselves.

Education teaches us all about the world we live in. In science, we learn about our planet and how it works. In math, we learn to calculate and solve problems. In English, we learn to communicate. In history, we learn about the mistakes made in the past so hopefully we can learn from them in the future.

The next time you ever think school is pointless and a waste of your time, think about Malala. Someone who would die just to have the basic right that you take for granted. Don't look at school as a waste of time, think of it as a blessing. Think about how lucky you are while others are not so privileged.
