In today's culture, sports play a big role. The Super Bowl is treated like a national holiday, people go crazy over the World Cup and the Olympics, and even baseball is America's Pastime. The world we live in puts a huge emphasis on sports and it seems like everyone has a team in at least one sport. And as attraction, people attend sporting events all the time. So how does one combine fashion with sports? Have no fear, If you've never been to any kind of sporting event in your life, here's a little guide of what to wear and still look fashionable!
When you go to a game, the most important thing is to be comfortable in what you're wearing. If you're not comfortable you won't have a good time. If you're a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl then do it. Jeans are great to wear for night games because it can get chilly. If you have a team you love, you got to represent, if not then try a t-shirt that matches your team's colors. For example, the Angels' main color is red, so a red t-shirt and jeans would work nicely. If you have a hat that reps your team, why not pair it with your t-shirt and jeans? For shoes, sneakers or sandals are always the best choice. Heels are not recommended to wear to a game, simply because the stairs are steep and you could become face to face with the ground just trying to get around. Jeans, t-shirts, and sandals/sneakers is the most common look you'll find at a baseball game. Which makes complete sense, because it is comfortable! You won't have to worry if you spill something or if someone spills something on you, because it won't need to be dry cleaned and silly little spill won't ruin or destroy your outfit. If you have a favorite player on a team and you don't have the money to buy a jersey, you can always purchase a "shirtsey". Player jerseys are expensive they can range from $80-$300 depending on which type you get. So a great affordable option is to get the shirtsey which is a t-shirt with the name and number of a player on the back. So basically, it is the t-shirt form of a jersey, which has been dubbed a shirtsey, clever right? These cost under $50 and are an affordable alternative to a jersey. Plus they look just as cute and are easier to maintain! Since jerseys are so expensive you have to treat them with care. Shirts like these are sold at the your team's Team Store, which are located at the stadium, but you can also get them online from the MLB store. On the MLB store, they have the option to pick anyone on the roster, so if your favorite player isn't super popular and his shirtsey isn't available at the Team Store, you can always get it online! Also at the MLB store you could also get a personalized version and even put your name or anyone's name on the shirt.
Speaking of jerseys, if you're lucky enough to own one, here's a simple way to wear it. Obviously paired with jeans and sneakers. Underneath the jersey, it's best to wear a loose t-shirt or preferably a tank top. You can leave the jersey unbuttoned or button it up. If you have a men's size jersey, they tend to be a little long and look better opened up. If you have a women's jersey those are not as long and look best buttoned up. If you want people to see the name of the player on your jersey tie your hair up in a pony tail, braid, bun, pig tails, whatever your style is and add a ribbon and tie it in a bow. For ribbon you can do solid colors that reflects your team or you can go to your local craft store and find ribbon with your team's logo or name on it!
On those hot summer days or nights, it can be unbearable to wear pants. So the simple jean shorts and t-shirt is your cool option for the jeans and t-shirt look. Paired with the shorts is a gray shirt, and gray shirts are best to wear when your team is the opposing team. In baseball, the colors of the team uniforms mean a lot. This is because the home team gets to wear white while the opposing team wears gray. However, sometimes you'll see players wearing white or gray pants with their other colored shirt. Well this is because the pitcher playing that day gets to decide what color jerseys the rest of the team wears. There's a little fun fact for you. Although with this gray shirt, it is a special shirt and it is worn often to the stadium. This is because it is a play off shirt, meaning that this is the shirt they sold when the Angels won the American League West Division last year. So because the Angels were the AL West champions last year, you'll see this gray shirt worn a lot at Angel Stadium.
If you want to pair your jersey with a pair of shorts go for it! Why not? It can be done! On those hot summer days, no one wants to wear jeans, and of course if you paid a lot money for your jersey! Don't you want to get your money's worth, especially if it's one of those $300 replica jerseys? Of course! Wear a tank top underneath, keep the jersey buttoned or unbuttoned. If you keep it unbuttoned it will be a little more breezy and comfortable and cool! If you want to make this outfit a little more girly and don't feel like tying your hair up and adding a ribbon, add a headband instead! When in doubt, girl it up with a flower crown, for a music festival meets sporting event look.
If you're not into the whole jeans and t-shirts and jerseys look, have no fear, there's plenty of other options out there. One of my personal favorites is the t-shirt and skirt look. Take one of your favorite team shirts and pair it with a skirt! Plain or patterned it doesn't matter! If you're using a patterned skirt pair the shirt and skirt carefully because not all patterns and colors pair well. Find a patterned skirt that contains your team's color in it and match it with a team shirt. This outfit shows that you are a fan with a great style. It's a fun and perfect look for summer and it's also very comfortable to wear at a game, especially if it is a sunny afternoon game. Now if you don't want to wear a t-shirt, jeans, shorts, skirts, jersey or anything else mentioned above how about a fun romper? A romper would be great for a sunny afternoon game. Rompers are fun summer outfits that are comfy and cozy, and are only a pain when you have to go to the bathroom. But they're cute and fashionable, so that's why we wear them. If you want to show your support for your team pair it with a baseball hat! Since not everyone is comfortable in hat, they're not everyone's cup of tea, so if you want to still represent your team at the game, put your hair up in whatever style suits you best and add ribbon for a bow.

These styles can also be used for any other sporting event if you're not interested in baseball or simply just love another sport more. On July 31, Disney Channel premiered their summer Disney Channel Original Movie (DCOM), Descendants. Now if you've been watching Disney Channel for the past couple months, like myself, (don't judge, almost all of my shows are on hiatus and it makes good background noise) you would have noticed the commercial for it, since it played during every commercial break. Every. Commercial. Break. But anyways, their plan worked on me because I ended up watching it.

Now what is this Descendants movie you ask? Well it is the story of the children of the infamous villains: Jafar (Maz Jobrani), Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson), Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy) and Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth). What a genius idea for a movie! Seeing the success of ABC's TV show, Once Upon A Time, it's no wonder they made a kid friendly/musical version of it. Now I didn't expect this movie to be a musical but I guess I should have realized that it would be since Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) was the director.

Descendants' interpretation of what happens after the classic Disney characters happy endings is quite interesting. Belle marries the Beast, and Beast unites all the kingdoms and become the United States of Auradon. So wouldn't that make Beast the President rather than King? Or has democracy not reached the fairytale lands yet? Anyways, all the villains were imprisoned on an island called Isle of the Lost which is surrounded by a magical barrier. Belle and Beast's son, Ben, is about to become king, which doesn't make sense seeing that his father is perfectly healthy and still on the young side. But anyways, his first royal proclamation is to give a chance to children of four villains to live in Auradon so they can find their inner goodness.

So Jay (Booboo Stewart), Carlos (Cameron Boyce), Evie (Sofia Carson) and Mal (Dove Cameron) find themsleves out of their homeland and now in the land of magic and happiness. But here's the catch Maleficent wants her daughter, Mal to steal the Fairy God Mother's magical wand, cause you know evil and taking over the world, blah blah blah, basic villain stuff.

When the kids get to Auradon they have their mind solely set on stealing the wand, making their parents proud and getting back home. Because who would want to deal with the children of the princes, princesses and other lovable classic characters? Some of those children turn out not to be as nice as their parents. But the love story between star crossed lovers Mal and Prince Ben certainly changes the dynamic of the movie.

Overall the story was great and it was enjoyable to watch. It gives a great perspective on good vs evil and setting the idea that just because you're supposed to be something because it is in your blood doesn't mean you have to be. You decide your own fate. The movie was adorable and those outfits were just to die for and they really capture each character's personality and traits. While the characters evolve so do their clothes.

The only thing that wasn't mind-blowing or fantastic was the music, which is disappointing because Kenny Ortega films normally have great music. Rotten to the Core was the opening number and introduced the viewers to the Isle of the Lost and it was by far the catchiest tune. However as expected, Kristin Chenoweth's phenomenal Broadway voice and talent was showcased and even Dove Cameron proved that she could keep up and displayed lots of talent musically and theatrically. But other than that the music was disappointing and not necessary. Most of the time the music was just a distraction, boring and painful to watch.

Disney fans will appreciate the references to the classic films in the movie. The children from heroes like Mulan, Cinderella, Aurora, Fairy God Mother and even Dopey have kids that attend the school as well. There are artifacts from several Disney films, like: the magic wand, the magic mirror, the spinning wheel, and etc, appear as well. For all we know there's probably a hidden Mickey or two in the film somewhere.

Is Descendants the next High School Musical or Camp Rock? There's a 50/50 chance. Based on Dove Cameron's performance, she has what it takes to rise to Teen Idol status. And based on the little twist at the end of the movie there should be a sequel in the works.

Radio Stations, one minute you love them and the other you hate them. It feels like they play the same songs over and over again and everything is just on loop. The radio has a lot of power when it comes to music. They determine which songs are played and which songs are hits. They also have the power to kill a really good song just by simply overplaying it. The overplaying of songs has led to the hatred of the radio and has had drivers turn to the audio jack and either put on Pandora, Spotify or Apple music instead. And don't get me started on the commercials every five minutes that conveniently play on every station at the same time.

Anyways, the whole point is that I have been busy and doing a lot of driving and when I drive, I listen to the radio. I am blessed enough to have Sirius XM in my car so I'm always listening to that beautiful commercial free radio. When I listen to Sirius XM you'll find me listening to Hits1, Venus, Pop2k, New York's Z100 (which sadly has ads), Alt Nation and The Highway. Four of those are pop/top 40 stations and the other two are alternative and country.

With a lot of driving comes listening to a lot of music so here are some of my favorite and least favorite songs that I have heard this month!

Country Love: What I love about the Highway is that they'll play both new country music and a little bit older stuff, and by older stuff I mean stuff that was popular a couple years ago. So when songs like Long Hot Summer by Keith Urban come on the radio I get excited and reminiscent but mainly excited. But I also get excited and jam when Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett and Ray Bans by JT Hodges come on as well.

Indie Jams: My boyfriend would call Alt Nation an indie station, and he's the expert when it comes to that. So for my alternative indie songs I've been jamming to Don't Wait Up by Robert Delong, Molecules by Atlas Genius, 2 Heads by Coleman Hell and Tear In My Heart by Twenty One Pilots. When these songs come on in my car I turn up the volume and sing as loud as possible.

The Almighty Top 40: Top 40 music is my favorite, and I can't deny it. Right now I've been really digging Worth It by Fifth Harmony, I'm Good by The Mowgli's, Shut Up & Dance by Walk the Moon, Stitches by Shawn Mendes, Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor, Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth/Meghan Trainor and Fire N Gold by Bea Miller.

Songs I Never Want to Hear on the Radio Ever Again: Now here's where we get to the dark side of the radio. Even commercial free radio like Sirius is guilty of overplaying and killing songs. And they've done that with these songs in particular: Anything Goes by Florida Georgia Line, Hey Mama by David Guetta/Nicki Minaj/Afrojack and See You Again by Wiz Khalifa/Charlie Puth.

Taylor Swift Songs You Should Listen to Besides Bad Blood: Of course Taylor Swift is Queen of Pop Music and it always seems like at least two or three of her songs are on the radio at all times. And I don't know about you but I'm getting a little sick of Bad Blood and even Blank Space, I can't believe they're still playing that song! So here's a friendly reminder that she has several other songs. If you want 1989 Taylor Swift check out How You Get the Girl or I Wish You Would, if you're feeling more Red then check out Starlight or if you want a more of a throwback check out Sparks Fly or even re-listen to the classic TSwift song Picture to Burn.

NEW FIND!: Now there's this new song I've been obsessed with and it has not been played on the radio at all. So you're probably wondering how did you hear this song then? Well it was in an episode of Pretty Little Liars, played in a Gatorade commercial and has been in the commercials for the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants. This song is called Wicked Ones by DOROTHY, check it out here! I've been listening and jamming to this song frequently, I'm obsessed.

On July 17, 1955, the Disneyland resort in Anaheim, California was opened by Walt Disney himself. Today, Disneyland celebrates its 60th birthday. The park has gone all out to prepare for the Diamond Celebration. For the big birthday, there have been some changes made to the park and they will be around all year long. Banners with diamonds hang along Main Street, classic characters from Mickey to Pluto all received dazzling new outfits fit for a extravagant celebration and even Sleeping Beauty's castle got an upgrade. Would you expect anything less from this million dollar resort? Of course not.

Disneyland started prepping for this magical birthday back in May, diamonds emerged all around the park. There were also new shows added, like the new Paint the Night parade and the Disneyland Forever firework show. Now I've only see parts of both of these shows (I'll get a better look at them in September when my pass lets me go again) and from what I've seen both of these shows look amazing. There is also a brand new World of Color show in California Adventure, I haven't seen that yet either but I look forward to seeing it!

If you attended the park today, you received a complimentary cupcake and pin confirming that you indeed were there today. Also if you were lucky and important enough, you could hear a replay of Walt Disney's Disneyland opening day speech in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

When Disneyland first opened 60 years ago, it was only 160 acres and cost $17 million to build, and it only cost $1 for adults and 50 cents for a child. Oh how the times have changed. Today, there are two parks that cover way more than 160 acres and it costs an adult $99 to visit one park one day, and $155 to visit both parks on a one day ticket. If you are a child (under the age of 10) it costs $93 for one park and $149 to visit both parks on a one day ticket.

But thankfully, they do have annual passes. I'm fortunate enough to have one, so I can experience the magic year round. Disneyland means a lot to me. Growing up, I remember going to the parks all the time with my family and as I grew up I got to experience it with other people who mean a lot to me. Disneyland will always hold a special place in my heart and I'll alway love it (even though pretty soon I won't be able to afford to love it anymore). I cherish every visit and I'll continue to make memories there for the rest of my life.

Happy Birthday Disneyland and to many more magical years. I know you'll continue to amaze and dazzle all of us. As Walt Disney once said:

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while but I've been exploring my new found freedom and spent the past couple weeks traveling and spending time with my boyfriend who I don't get to see in person all the time. Anyways, back to the subject matter, I present to you my June 2015 Swim into Beauty Glam Bag review. The theme, Swim into Beauty, was cute and a perfect way to kick off summer. The Glam Bag itself was cute and I loved the material, it was perfect to take to the beach or even have it poolside. The only problem with the Glam Bag itself was that my zipper was chipped so on the keychain it was all pink/orange with a gray spot. In this Glam Bag I received: the OFRA Cosmetics Turquoise Eyeliner, the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer, the LAVANILA LABORATORIES The Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla, the FORMULA X Power Source nail color, and the tre'StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon.

I'm going to start off with the OFRA Cosmetics Turquoise Eyeliner. The eyeliner itself works very well, it goes on smoothly and does not smudge easily. It is a very good quality eyeliner. And I love the color turquoise, but not for eyeliner. I'm not a huge fan of colored eyeliner, I feel like it is a very juvenile trend and I'm just not into it. Like I've said before, I went through that phase already and I've matured since my beginning days with makeup. And apparently this eyeliner can also be used as a lipliner according to the product information on ipsy. Well then, if you're into blue eyelids and lips have at it with this eyeliner.

Next we have the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer, and I was so excited to receive this product. I had been dying to try this and it is awesome! It made my face soft and smooth and it helped my foundation stay bright full throughout the day.

Then we have the LAVANILA LABORATORIES The Healthy Body Butter in Pure Vanilla. I really liked this body butter and I'd say this is the best kind of lotion type of product I've received from ipsy. It smelt super good, then again you can't go wrong with a vanilla scent, it's my personal favorite. And it also made my skin feel very nice and soft! In the past couple weeks, I've already used most of this body butter.

And next we have the FORMULA X Power Source nail color, which is a hot coral pink shade. I love the color and it almost matches the Glam Bag. I'm not a big fan of nail polish, partially because I'm so bad at applying it but this was so easy to apply. I hardly messed up and this polish dries quickly. It also lasts a long time on its own, it didn't start chipping for me until after three or four days, with my nails and the polish I normally use, my nails chip after one or two days. This nail polish really impressed me and I loved the sample size, since I don't use nail polish often it is the perfect size for me.

Lastly we have the tre'StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon in the Kona coffee shade, which is a nice chocolate brown. I really like eye shadow crayons, and I really liked this one. Even though it did smudge easily the first time I used it I liked how well it blended and how easily it applied.

Overall I'd say I was pretty impressed with this Glam Bag. I think ipsy did a decent job picking products that would be good to wear on a beach or pool or a summer day. I think the addition of a waterproof product would have been an amazing idea but what do I know? I was really impressed with this bunch of products and this was the best Glam Bag I've received from ipsy. So I'm going to give this Glam Bag 4/5 stars! Thanks for reading and until next time!

In today's society there's a huge pressure to lose weight and be skinny. With this pressure to be thin, it seems today that most people have lost the idea of being healthy and fit. Instead they want a magical pill which will shrink their bodies and not have to change anything about their diet or lives. However, I refuse to be one of those people. Of course like everyone else, I want to lose weight, but more importantly I want to be healthy. And this brings me to the main topic of this blog post. With the help of Fitbit, I'm on a journey to a healthier and happier me.

What is Fitbit you ask? Well it is a wireless activity tracker that syncs to your smartphone or computer. These devices keep track of how many steps you take, your quality of sleep, your active minutes throughout the day, food and water consumption, weight and more. There are several different kinds of trackers and some do a lot more than others.

But I'm going to talk about the Flex, which is the one I use. The Flex was a perfect choice for me, it is a simple wristband and I take the little chip in and out to charge. Since I can take the Fitbit out I'm also able to change the wristband. Fitbit sells various other colors and even some Tory Buch wristbands! It was a little costly, but I was lucky enough to receive it as a present from my Mom. It tracks my all day activity like my steps, calories burned, distance and active minutes. And throughout the day if I tap the wristband, little LED lights will light up and show me my progress on my step goal. And what I really love about my Fitbit Flex is that it will track how many hours of sleep I get and I can also set up a silent alarm! The alarm sends a little vibration to wake you up, and that's much better for me than a noisy and annoying alarm clock I tune out. The alarms are also good for little reminders throughout the day.

Also with Fitbit, you can add your friends and cheer one another on and also compete with them in a Fitbit challenge. And those do really work, the first time when I was actually winning one, I was working twice as hard to stay on top! The friendly challenges and the cheer and support from your friends makes Fitbit a fun part of your daily life.

Since I've had my Fitbit, I've become more aware of how active I am and how motivated I am to be healthy. I'm always wanting to reach my step goal, if I go somewhere, I park a little further in order to get those extra steps. I'll admit, I'm not completely using my Fitbit to its full potential, and I should do more and slowly but surely I'll make progress.

Back in March I was lucky enough to go to Arizona and attend a couple Spring Training games for the Angels! It was a lovely weekend getaway to Tempe filled with baseball! My two favorite things: baseball and traveling, what could be better? So I went down the street to the Long Beach airport, yes I live right by the airport, and I hopped on one of these tiny two seater US Air Express planes to Phoenix! Look at how tiny that plane is! You should see the inside!

Oh wait you can, with an airplane selfie! Maybe you can't really see how tiny it is but you get the idea.

So I went on this lovely Spring Training getaway with my family, and once we landed and grabbed our bags we headed to the rental car area. A car is a big necessity in Spring Training, especially if you're going to several different stadiums. So we got in the rental car, and headed to our hotel in Tempe. Our hotel was The Buttes, which is a Marriott resort, and this hotel was beautiful!

Just look at that pool and scenery! Settled on top of a hill, The Buttes overlooks Phoenix in one direction and the other direction you can see the Tempe Diablo Stadium, the Spring Training home for the Angels. The Angels' home away from home is settled down the hill from the Buttes and is in walking distance. But fear not there are golf carts located in front of the lobby to take you down and up the hills when needed. And I indeed took a golf cart down to the bottom of the hill to get to my first Spring Training game. My mom actually booked this trip with Angels Vacations, the same people who organized my Boston trip. And by booking with Angels Vacations we received: three nights at the Buttes, the rental car, tickets for two games, a tour of the Tempe Diablo stadium and a meet & greet and dinner with some Angels players and staff!

The real fun (at least for me) is waiting outside the stadium over by the field where the Angels workout and do their warm ups, before the game starts. This is where the players come out to walk to the stadium and some even stop to sign! I got to meet a lot of players, some I knew, and some that I still don't know to this day. For example, Mike Morin, Cam Bedrosian, Grant Green and Drew Rucinski all signed my hat! Others did too but like I said, I still can't figure out, mainly because I can't read their signature.

So I got to watch the Angels play the Giants at both Tempe Diablo Stadium and at the Giants' stadium in Scottsdale. It was great to watch both of the teams get ready for the upcoming season and see the new emerging talent. What I like best about Spring Training games is getting to see the guys who don't get to play everyday or even the ones who may not make the team try to earn their spot. Personally, I liked Tempe Diablo better, but that's because it's my teams stadium and I got to sit in the shade. When I was at the Giants' stadium, I sat in the sun and got burned, tip and friendly reminder, always wear sunscreen and don't forget to reapply. That desert sun burns with all its might. After the game at the Tempe Diablo Stadium, I got to attend the Angels Vacation dinner which included a Q&A with Angels Vice President Communications Tim Mead, bullpen coach Steve Soliz and catchers Chris Iannetta and Drew Butera (now on the Royals). Honestly, I didn't really like who I got meet. If you read my twitter, you'll already know about my feelings towards Chris Ianetta, and Drew Butera was new and now is gone. And honestly, it seemed like they really didn't want to be there, it felt more like it was an obligation they had to fill rather than an appreciation for the fans. However, Tim Mead is a wonderful and very nice guy! After the meet & greet, Tim Mead took us down onto the field and we got to go into the dugout, which was ver cool! It was fun to walk on the field and climb into the dugout and sit where all my favorite players sit! Seeing the Angels get ready and prepare for the upcoming season was a truly amazing experience, also seeing the Angels sweep the World Series Champions, the San Francisco Giants was pretty awesome as well. Even though the Spring Training games don't count, it's still nice to see my favorite team win, and it makes the season ahead much more exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed Spring Training, and I can't wait to go next year!
